Current investment strategies often struggle to grasp the intrinsic value of interconnected and intricate systems. Although there is growing acknowledgment of the need for more systemic approaches to drive innovation and collaboration, these endeavors still lack sufficient long-term funding to bring about real transformation. To ensure a thriving future for both people and the planet, it is essential for capital to flow in service to our city. A new financial paradigm begins to emerge when we shift the power dynamics, relationships, and resource flows that are presently intertwined. It is crucial, now more than ever, to adopt innovative and place-based approaches that foster stronger and more resilient communities. The challenge lies in promoting local investment in a global playing field. Join us for a conversation with renowned economist, author, visionary and architect of community economics, Michael Shuman, and CEO of Regen Melbourne, Kaj Löfgren.
