Poems on Being with Each Other
A Poetry Retreat with Pádraig Ó Tuama
What happens in between people?
All kinds of things: we love each other, we ignore each other, hate, attract, apall and admire each other. There are fights, misunderstandings, creativity, babies, beliefs and philosophies made in the space between us.
Join Pádraig Ó Tuama—host of popular podcast Poetry Unbound—for a two-day retreat on the poetry of human connection. We’ll read poems that hold the weight and wonder of being together. We’ll listen, write, and share in ways that invite understanding.

“Spent the weekend at the Small Giants Poetry Retreat, nuzzling my brain into the beautiful and bewildering world of words. It’s been such a privilege to be in the same room as one of the voices I wholeheartedly admire. To pay attention to language and its power. To sit with wonder, time, the ordinary and the stories of others. To dance between the mechanics and magic of poetry on a page. To revisit, rewrite and rewrite again. To listen. To share and be seen. To walk away knowing I’ve bridged that gap (even if not completely) between shyness and showing up as the poet I want to be.
It has been everything. It has been so much. “ - Lynette (Pádraig Ó Tuama poetry retreat 2023)

“Pádraig Ó Tuama is an extraordinary person, whose influence extends quietly and gracefully across the world. His poetry bears these same qualities and brings him close. It is a gift to us all.”
